Support for young carers

If you are a young carer aged under 25, the Student Welfare Service can help you make the most of your time at University.

Support can include:

Finding out if you are receiving the maximum support available from Student Finance England and from University Scholarships
Checking your possible entitlement to state benefits
Young Carers Allowance exploring your entitlement to extra travel costs and support

You can discuss your situation, confidentially, with an adviser through a face to face appointment, by email or telephone. Please contact us on the details located to the right of this page.

Opening hours

The Student Welfare Service is open from 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.

Appointments can be made outside of these hours in special circumstances.
