Getting your Deposit Back

The landlord MAY keep all or part of the deposit to:
  • Replace or repair damage
  • Clean the premises in order to restore them to a reasonable
    condition
  • Replace locks or keys if they are not returned on time
  • Remove any large amounts of rubbish left in the property
  • Cover non-payment of bills or rent
The landlord CANNOT keep all or part of the deposit to:   The Inventory
  • cover fair wear and tear

  Your landlord should provide you with an Inventory when you move in.
