Spent too much on dissertation printing? Burdened with equipment associated with your degree? Need help paying for a field trip? Struggling with the cost of playing sport? The Students' Union has launched a Additional Costs Bursary scheme to help you, in direct response to the large amount of additional student costs you told us about in our 10,000 Conversations Project and in the Your Union Your Voice survey. The deadline for applications to be submitted is the 1st July 2019.  Some examples of costs that would be covered by this scheme include:

  • Dissertation printing and/or binding
  • Purchase of a core text book
  • Team Leicester membership required to join a club

  • Travel to a placement or fieldwork
  • Printing required for your academic studies.
  • Travel to campus
Hidden Cost Application Form
To make an application simply fill in the form below including details of the additional course cost you are claiming for and submit this to us by the 1st July 2019. Do remember to include the total amount you wish to claim, and upload a document that includes evidence of the relevant costs. You can only claim for course costs for the current or subsequent academic year . Once you submit the form a member of the Students' Union will be in touch within three working details and if your application is successful we will at this stage request your bank details. Please note that there is a finite budget for the scheme and therefore requests will be granted as first come first serve with a upper limit of £100 per student.

What happens next?

The final deadline for submitting your application is July1st 2019. If your application is received prior to this date then a member of the Students' Union will respond to you by email, usually within three working days with details of any additional information we require. We will then ensure that you receive confirmation of the outcome from your application within 10 working days.

If you have any questions regarding this form then please email Ian Bruce, Student Voice Manager at irb2@le.ac.uk
