Course Overview

This course will introduce you to the advantages of using Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts in Excel. Pivot Tables are useful for summarising large amounts of data and viewing it in different ways.

“At the moment I spend time applying filters to Excel table to group data. Learning to use pivot tables will allow me to do this much faster, and in much more detail. It will also make preparing well presented reports much easier."

What can I expect to cover?

You will find out how to create multidimensional data views by dragging and dropping column headings to move data around and analyse it from different perspectives.

What will I get out of this course?

On completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Understand how and when to use a Pivot Table
  • Create a basic Pivot Table report
  • Change the layout and value settings
  • Group, subtotal and perform calculations within your Pivot Table

What prior experience do I need?

You must have a good working knowledge of Excel. This course is aimed at those who have large blocks of Excel data and want to learn how to produce summary reports from this data.
