Course Overview


Departmental Safety Inspections are an important part of the University’s health and safety arrangements.  This course looks at the role of these inspections and their contribution to the safety, health and welfare of University staff, students and visitors and instructs inspectors on inspection methods, reporting procedures and remedial actions.

  • Basic accident prevention
  • Why carry out health and safety inspections?
  • Inspection and reporting procedures
  • Review of the University's inspection programme - lessons learned, frequently asked questions etc

Suitable for staff nominated to serve on departmental inspection teams at the University of Leicester.
