CMIS - Building Your Timetable


Course Description


This course will guide you through the process of creating your department/school/course timetable for the next academic year.  It will introduce you to new functions and processes, as well as building on skills covered by the Introduction to CMIS course.


Please ensure you have read the 'Who is it for?' section prior to booking for this course.

Unfortunately there are no further dates scheduled at present.

When workshop dates are available they will be released and advertised here on the course description.


This course runs for 3 hours

What will I get out of this course?

On completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Know when to delete module/course information and how to do so
  • Create course structures for new courses being offered
  • Amend module delivery to reflect teaching changes
  • Clash check at course level and understand the principles for student clash checking
  • Understand the importance of accurate data in CMIS for the systems it feeds into
  • Conduct thorough data checking of events for your department/school/courses
Who is it for?

Departmental Timetable Contacts responsible for producing the teaching timetable.

Additional departmental members of staff should only attend if they are likely to be involved in the production of the teaching timetable for the next academic year.

Participant preparation needed? Some pre-course preparation will need to be undertaken, the details of which will be distributed once confirmation of a place on the course has been issued.

What prior experience do I need?

A basic understanding of CMIS.
