Overview

Exam Board Secretary training will provide you with an overview of the Panel and Boards of Examiners process, and the Awards and Assessment processing. This course provides information about key roles and responsibilities during these processes and allows you to see any recent changes to the system. The course will allow you to use MyStudentRecord and Business Objects, give detail on what information is required when looking at panels and boards, and provide an hands-on experience of various functions. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have at the end of the session.

  • Thursday 30 April 2020 (9.30am - 11.30am)

What will I get out of this course?

On completion of this course you will:

  • Have an understanding of the roles of Exam Board Secretaries, Academic Registrar’s Representatives and Data Officers, and how the roles interlink during the Panel and Board of Examiners period.
  • Understand the difference between Panels and Boards of Examiners, and the relationship between them
  • Be able to confidently navigate MyStudentRecord and Business Objects
  • Understand the data flow from Marks Entry to Results being released to students
Who is it for?

Departmental administrative colleagues who will be acting as Exam Board Secretaries.

Participant preparation needed?

Ensure the dates of all Panels and Boards have been set and confirmed on the Assessment Regulations page. Review the Glossary of terms (which you will receive when you complete the online booking form). Access to Business Objects.

If you do not have a Business Objects account you can request an account by contacting the IT Service Desk on Tel: (0116) 252 2253.

What prior experience do I need?

Training is provided for all colleagues who will be acting as Exam Board Secretaries, so no prior experience is required. It would be helpful, but not essential, if you were familiar with MyStudentRecord and Marks Entry or had attended the Student Records System Marks Entry course.
