Wheelchair Rugby Divisional Title Success

University of Leicester PhD History Student and Sports Scholar Nick Cummins was part of the victorious Leicester Tigers wheelchair Rugby Club who successfully defended their Division One title, going undefeated for the whole season.

A number of the Leicester Tigers team including Nick will now focus on their GB team selection for the Wheelchair Rugby International Quad Nations, being held at the Morning Side Arena from the 1st-3rd March, 2019.

Following the team receiving their award, Nick said: “It's a great achievement to win successive league titles and to go undefeated this season despite tough opposition.  It's a sign that we are really cementing our status as the best wheelchair rugby team in the country.  Hopefully, those of us who will go on to compete at the Quad Nations can take this success forward into that tournament”

Great Britain will have two preliminary games on Friday 1st and one on Saturday 2nd, with the playoff and final taking place on Sunday 3rd March. Don’t miss this opportunity to watch International competition in Leicester. For further information click here

Following the Quad Nations, Nick and his Leicester Tigers teammates focus will return to club duty, competing in the National Cup in May.
