Abigail McLindon selected to represent England Universities (Hockey)

University of Leicester final year student and sports scholar, Abigail McLindon has received confirmation that she has been selected to represent England Universities in two forthcoming International fixtures.

As part of the final selection process, Abii was selected to represent the South at the annual England Universities, North v South challenge cup, with the North slightly edgeing the South to be crowned 2018 champions.

Following the conclusion of the 2018 challenge cup, Abii received confirmation that she has been chosen as part of the 20 player squad to represent England Univeristies in two International fixtures in June.

The first game will be against Hockey for Heroes (England over 35’s), followed by the squad travelling to Brussels to play the Belgium U21’s with both games being played in June.

During her time her at Leicester Abii has played an instrumental part in the development of the women’s hockey programme. She has dedicated many hours to training, playing, committee roles and mentoring other members of the programme alongside her academic commitments.

Let’s hope that she has a very successful end to her university days before embarking on the next stage of her career.
