Last week was an exciting week for the Leicester Academy, with 11 student volunteers delivering sports sessions to over 70 primary school pupils at four different Leicester City schools.

This was the start of an eight-week programme for the Leicester Academy volunteers who will be delivering sports sessions in the schools until the Easter break, with sessions varying from gymnastics and basketball to multi-skills. The Leicester Academy Sports Leaders utilised their multi-skills training they received before Christmas to make the sessions engaging and inclusive for all, and to increase participation and enjoyment in physical activity in young people by making sport fun.

This week will see a further 12 Leicester Academy volunteers deliver sports sessions to four more local primary schools, having a huge positive impact on the local community.
