Sport Inclusion Opportunities Fund

The Sport Inclusion Opportunities Fund looks to provide students with additional financial support towards sporting activities.

Due to the high volume of successful Sport Inclusion Opportunities Fund applications the fund has now closed. We will no longer be accepting any applications.

Engaging in extra-curricular activities at University is an important part of your student journey. We understand that for many activities there are costs involved which might stop you from doing this.

Sport & Active Life, Student Support Services and the SU have partnered together to help overcome the financial barrier that some students face in taking part activities at the University.

We can now offer funding to help with the costs of participating within:

  • University Gym Membership
  • Team Leicester Membership
  • Team Leicester Sports Clubs Membership

For more information please contact welfare@le.ac.uk. To apply for funding, please complete the application form (below and) follow the submission instructions.

We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and ethnic minority (BAME) students and disabled students as these are student groups that are currently underrepresented in terms of participation in university sport.
We would also like to facilitate greater access to sport for students that have different experiences of a full-time on-campus student and encourage students that commute or mature students to consider applying.

Please note no applications will be reviewed until week commencing the 23rd September 2019. No refunds will be issued during 2019/20, please contact the email above for more details.
