Current students are critical to our work, and there are a number of ways that you can get involved:

Leicester Student Ambassador

Undergraduate students in their final year of studyor post graduate students are not eligible to apply. Any applications submitted by these students will not be considered.

Type: Casual / Flexible
Pay: The current hourly starting rate is £7.05
Applications Open: WC 5th February 2018 Application Deadline: Midday Friday 9th March 2018 Assessment Centre:21st or 22nd March 2018
Compulsory training for successful applicants: 26th, 27th and 28th April 2018

Through our Leicester Student Ambassador scheme you can work with us on the delivery of Open Days, Applicant Visit Days and a wide variety of other events which take place on campus and in schools in support of our Student Recruitment activity. Ambassadors also have the opportunity to work with pupils at Primary and Secondary level both on and off campus in support of our Widening Participation activity

Mature Student Ambassadors

At the University of Leicester we have a well-established Leicester Student Ambassador scheme, we are piloting a similar scheme for Mature Student Ambassadors to support our widening participation activity.

E-Mentor

Working with the Widening Participation Team, E-Mentors will mentor up to 9 mentees from one of the widening participation programmes we offer (the programme you work on as an E-Mentor will be chosen upon your suitability and where you will be able to most utilise your experience and knowledge to guide your e-mentees.)

As an E-Mentor you will be able to support and guide prospective students through our online platform whilst working around your studies gaining valuable skills for your CV.

Working In Schools

There are also a variety of opportunities for current students to undertake work in schools through activities such as the Students in classroom programme. If you are part of a committee for a student group and would like to earn your society some cash by delivering sessions on campus or in schools get in touch with su-community@le.ac.uk to express an interest and they will be in touch with you.

Academic Assignment Tutors

We have opportunities for PhD students to work as Academic Assignment Tutors for Realising Opportunities programme. These are longer-term positions and we welcome applications from PhD students across all fields of study.
