University Key Dates Calendar
All students and staff are able to access a University Key Dates Calendar. This contains important dates all in one place, including:
- Semester dates
- Term dates
- Registration deadlines
- Course transfer windows
- Exam periods
- University closure days
- UK bank holidays
- Graduation periods
- Online module selection periods
- Student debt payment deadlines (for eligibility for graduation)
- Exam timetable publish dates
- Teaching timetable publish dates
- ELTU enrolment deadlines
- Visa checkpoint dates
How can I access the University Key Dates Calendar?
You can access it using:
- Microsoft Outlook 2016 on a University computer
- webmail.le.ac.uk
In Microsoft Outlook 2016
- Open your calendar
- Click the ‘Open Calendar’ button in the ribbon across the top of the screen
- Click ‘From Address Book’
- Search ‘UoLCalendar’ in the search bar
- Double click on UoLCalendar in the list (it should be the first option)
- Click ‘OK’
- The calendar will now appear next to your own
In Webmail
- Open your calendar
- Click ‘Import calendar’ on the left hand side of the screen
- Click ‘From directory’ on the left hand side of the box
- Search ‘UoLCalendar’ in the search bar
- A box will drop down, with the email address ‘uolcalendar@leicester.ac.uk’ in it. Click on this
- Click ‘Add’
- The calendar will now appear overlaid with your own
To overlay the University Key Dates Calendar with your own in Microsoft Outlook 2016
- Once you’ve added the calendar using steps 1-7 above, locate where it says ‘UoLCalendar’ above the calendar view
- There should be a small arrow pointing left, to the left of the words ‘UoLCalendar’. Click the arrow
- The calendar will now appear overlaid with your own. You can click the arrow, now pointing to the right, if you’d like to view the calendar separately again
How can I use the calendar?
There are three ways that you can use the calendar:
- Adding dates to your own calendar, using the University Key Dates Calendar as a reference (once added – viewable across all University Calendar platforms)
- Simply referencing it next to your own (viewable in Microsoft Outlook on a University Computer)
- Overlaying the Key Dates Calendar with your own (viewable in Microsoft Outlook on a University computer, and in Webmail)
