Information for Staff

SITS is the University's central student records system.

SITS is a student records management system used to store, administer and manage all aspects of student information.
SITS Client

SITS Client is a program used by Registry, Admissions, DL Hubs and some departments to work directly with SITS.

MyStudentRecord MyStudentRecord is a web interface which is used by departments to work directly with SITS, it is tailored for specific purposes making it easier to use than SITS Client. MyStudentRecord is also used by applicants and students.
Associated IT systems
The following systems also work in conjunction with SITS:
Business Objects Business Objects can be used to run reports on the data that is held within SITS.
Blackboard VLE Blackboard is the virtual learning environment (VLE) used at the University of Leicester. Data from SITS feeds into Blackboard to ensure that students are enrolled onto the correct Blackboard courses.
CMIS Timetabling CMIS is the University’s central timetabling system and is used for student timetabling and to allocate rooms. Data from SITS feeds into CMIS to ensure that student numbers and course modules are accurate.
