Guidance for student handbook editors in ensuring that the contents of student handbooks are accurate and compliant with University regulations

Read the sections of the Guidelines on the Production of Student Handbooks and the information on the SAS Student Handbook webpages carefully.

These will help you to ensure that the content of your handbook is accurate and meets University expectations for student handbook production. The information contained within them will answer the most common questions asked by student handbook editors about content.

Compliance with regulations and University approved course documents

Please pay close attention to Senate Regulations (www.le.ac.uk/senate-regulations) when preparing student handbooks. All student handbook content must be compatible with regulations, excepting where special dispensation from a specific regulation(s) has been formally granted by the Quality and Standards Sub-Committee.

Standard text entries found in the Student Handbook Template inform students about key regulatory issues. These are deliberately succinct to direct students to read Senate Regulations and, where available, relevant guidance for students on the Student and Academic Services website. Contact the Quality Office if you wish to add additional information to a standard text entry about regulatory matters for assistance with ensuring that your edits are regulatory compliant.
