Payment by Card

Information on how to pay University tuition and accommodation fees by card.

Online card payment is the fasted method of paying your fees. Your information is held in an encrypted form in a safe and secure environment. Once payment is successful you will receive a receipt to the email address supplied during payment from After receiving your offer to study with the University please allow 24 hours before attempting to make an online card payment. Please allow 24 hours for the University to receive your card payment.

Information for International Card Payments

If you live outside the UK you may wish to advise your card provider that you will be making a payment as your bank may block the payment for security reasons.

If paying with an international card you may be given the option to pay in your home currency and receive a competitive exchange rate for your payment. You will be able to choose and see the exact value in your home currency at the point of payment. The exchange rate is based 3.5% above Reuters Wholesale Interbank Exchange Rate at the time of your payment. Further information can be found here.

China UnionPay

If you wish to pay using a China UnionPay card you can do so through our Western Union platform. Please click below to pay with China UnionPay.


Please do not email or post card or bank details to the University of Leicester. Any details sent using these methods will be destroyed and we will not process your payment.

Paying by debit/credit card in person

Due to the current situation with COVID-19 and the University's response, we are unable to take payments in person due to building closure. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Please do not email any card details to us, we will not process payments this way and any details will be destroyed.
