How we can help

We are here to support the University to create a culture of continuous improvement. We are doing this in a number of different ways. Please see below to get an idea of the ways we might be able to help you.

We can help to bring the Leicester approach to continuous improvement to life in your team by guiding you through a full process improvement piece of work.
Working with you and your team we will use a range of methods and tools to find out what matters, analyse how things are currently working, design what better would be and then implement a change. Everyone involved in a process improvement will gather tools and methods that they can take away with them and start to apply in their own day to day work.

In addition to full process improvement work the Continuous Improvement Team can work with you to understand your own area and help you to identify processes and requirements for larger projects.

Training and development

We support the development of staff at all levels by training them in the fundamentals and principles of a range of continuous improvement methodologies, explaining how these methods fit in with the Leicester approach to continuous improvement. Our courses include:

  • Introduction to Continuous Improvement
  • Understanding what matters to your customers
  • Making measures work
  • Getting started with flow - process mapping

If you are a leader at the University we can help you develop a deeper understanding of change theory especially how change can affect people in your team, just get in touch for an informal discussion.

Guide on the side

Do you need a 'guide on the side'? We would be happy to offer informal support or guidance to anyone who is involved in improvement or change work. Maybe you need a hand getting started with a piece of improvement work or maybe you need a bit of a refresher on a specific subject, either way get in touch with us using the details at the bottom of this page.

He have pulled together a library of online guides and articles for further reading about continuous improvement methods and theory.

There are also a number of DIY documents and templates to help you plan and run your own process improvements.
