Postgraduate Researcher Development

The training programme for postgraduate researchers (PGRs) is based on the skills and experience that the UK Research Councils expect you to develop during the course of your research degree programme. It is informed and guided by Vitae’s Researcher Development Framework, which identifies the knowledge, behaviour and attributes of successful researchers.

It is envisaged that this framework, and the attributes it helps you develop, will help you maximise your potential and get the most out of your career, be it within or outside academia.

You can book for a variety of workshops and sessions via MyPGR.

You can download an interactive pdf by clicking here. You can also visit visit Research Essentials Online (this link takes you to Blackboard) to view previous recordings, slides, and other materials.

The key areas addressed in our programme are:

Together with the Doctoral College, we offer a range of workshops, surgery sessions and other fora to help with Supervising, Examining and Supporting Postgraduate Researchers at the University of Leicester.
