Academic Staff

Academic staff

Academic staff engage in a wide range of professional activities which are recognised by formal reward and recognition structures. The Leicester Learning Institute training provision and resources are designed and developed in collaboration with academic departments, the Colleges, the Research Support Office and Human Resources. The resources on career development for academic staff direct you towards structures for feedback and formal recognition for your work, as well as information on local and national initiatives to support the retention and progression of academic staff from under-represented groups.

At present we offer a practical and engaging half-day course that will enable those in leadership positions to identify ways of communicating that are right for them and that have a positive and lasting influence on their colleagues and on team performance. The Leading and Motivating Others session is suitable for those who have, or are soon to acquire, leadership responsibilities, particularly research leaders and principal investigators on research projects.
