Development Research Partnership Fund

The Research and Enterprise Division (RED) has a fund of £30,000 to facilitate travel, networking and any other small-scale activities that will enable research partnerships with organisations in countries on the DAC list. These proposals will be capped at £2,500 per application.

Eligible costs include:

  • Least-cost travel expenses and meeting organisation costs, as per institutional guidelines (incoming and outgoing)
  • Small workshops or events
  • Impact activities


  • Activities focused on developing teaching-only partnerships, or partnerships reliant on doctoral students and studentships 
  • Overheads
  • Sabbaticals
  • Coursework

The Fund covers all disciplines and Colleges. If you are awarded funds you will need to spend your funding by the end of July 2017 at the latest, and will be required to write a short report on the outcome of your activities. `

How to apply

Please submit a completed application form to the Strategic Research Development Manager ( The form must have been signed by the Head of Department or School.

Requests will be considered by a virtual panel consisting of College Directors of Research, a College Research Development Manager and the Strategic Research Development Manager.
