Dr André Ng, of the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences,  has revolutionised the way heart treatments and procedures are done.

He carried out the world’s first catheter ablation procedure using the Amigo Robotic Catheter System and another world-first remote heart procedure using a robotic arm alongside 3-D mapping.

Dr Ng and his team are actively involved in the evaluation and development of robotic arm systems, which are more precise than the currently available technology and a big step forward, greatly enhancing treatment options.

His pioneering operation and work has been featured prominently in the BBC, the London Press Service, PhysOrg, Metro, Leicester Mercury, Science Daily, the Daily Mail, Science Newsline, Sky News, Financial Times, and other local, national and international publications.
