On Thursday 22 February, the University of Leicester’s next Open Day for the School of Museum Studies will be taking place, offering the chance for 2018 applicants and prospective applicants to gain insight into Master’s study with the School.

Running from 1.00- 4.30 pm, the day will provide the opportunity to meet academic staff and current full-time MA students, sample three 'bite-sized' lectures, have a guided tour of the School and be provided with course(s) details.

The University of Leicester’s School of Museum Studies offers postgraduate programmes both on its main campus in Leicester and by distance learning.

Postgraduate campus-based courses on offer include Museum Studies and Art Museum and Gallery Studies. Flexible Learning courses include Museum Studies, Heritage and Interpretation, and Socially Engaged Practice in Museum and Galleries.

Professor Richard Sandell, Professor of Museum Studies at the University of Leicester, said: “Open Days are always an exciting event for us, giving people interested in Museum Studies the chance to come and take part in mini-lectures and find out more about the School and what we do.

“We love meeting people who are interested in our subject area and look forward to getting to know them and answering any questions they have at the Open Day”.

The Open Day will take place in the Museum Studies Building at 19 University Rd, Leicester LE1 7RF. Those who are unable to attend in person can log on to view the live video stream of the Open Day.

  • Please note: this Open Day is for any applicant or prospective applicant who is considering commencing Master's study with the School in 2018.
