Drop in on 31 October and share memories of Richard Attenborough in Leicester

Issued by Embrace Arts on 16 October 2013

Embrace Arts, the University of Leicester’s arts centre, is inviting people to drop in on 31 October and share their memories of Richard Attenborough in Leicester.

The centre, which is one of only two purpose-built spaces in the East Midlands for the promotion of arts and disability, was championed by Lord Attenborough, and following celebrations for his 90th Birthday, it is now looking to gather feedback on how Lord Attenborough influenced the lives of people in the city.

Co-director Louisa Milburn commented: “Whether it was being inspired to be a film-maker or taking a creative learning course at Embrace Arts that fostered your creative career, we want to hear about it! Lord Attenborough has supported Leicester in so many ways”.

To share your memory, visit Embrace Arts between 12.30 – 6.30pm on Thursday 31 October. Team members will be on-hand to write down your special memory and a selection of people will be invited to record their feedback on film at a later date.

Josie Goodwin, part of the team who will be welcoming people on 31 October added: “There will be plenty of tea and biscuits and lots of staff, all looking forward to hearing how Richard Attenborough has touched the lives of people in Leicester.  Just look for a team member wearing a Share your memories of Richard Attenborough with me t-shirt!

Embrace Arts is located at the Richard Attenborough centre on Lancaster Road near the fire station (LE1 7HA), there is FREE parking after 6pm in the Medical Sciences car park next to Embrace Arts.
