The former Archbishop of Cape Town and Honorary Graduate of the University of Leicester, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, is to return to Leicester to deliver the Provost Derek Hole Annual Lecture 2012, ‘Public faith in a secular age,’ on Wednesday 14 November. This event is now fully booked.
Last year Archbishop Desmond Tutu received an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Letters from the University of Leicester. The award, presented before graduating students and their families from around the world, was made in recognition of his work in the field of race relations.
Media are welcome to attend the lecture to take photographs. Photo opps are available at the start of the lecture – please be in situ no later than 15 minutes before start of lecture ie. 5.15pm on Wednesday 14 November at the Peter Williams Lecture Theatre, Fielding Johnson Building South Wing. Entrance from Gate 1, University Road, Leicester.
Please note that there will be no interview opportunities with Desmond Tutu.
