Revealing the story behind the Search for King Richard III

Exclusive opportunity to preview new exhibition dedicated to the search for his remains and visit the location of the King’s final battle Follows international press announcement of the results of the search and first broadcast of dedicated Channel 4 documentary

Issued by Leicestershire Promotions on 29 January 2013

Press visit date: From 11am – 4pm on Thursday 7 February 2013

You are invited to a press visit to Leicester and Leicestershire on Thursday 7 February 2013 to discover the story behind the search for King Richard III, the last English King to be killed in battle.

The visit will provide an exclusive opportunity to discover the history of King Richard III, the impact the search for his remains will have on Leicester and Leicestershire, and the plans for interpreting this story for visitors to the city and county.

This exclusive opportunity follows a major press conference to be held on Monday 4 February at the University of Leicester where the results of a series of scientific investigations into human remains – which are possibly those of King Richard III – will be revealed. This will coincide with a Channel Four TV documentary, ‘The King in the Car Park’ to be broadcast at 9pm on 4 February.

The press visit on Thursday 7 February will begin at 11am at the medieval Guildhall in Leicester, home to a major new exhibition bringing to life the story of the search for Richard III, before progressing on to Bosworth Battlefield in Leicestershire, the site of the battle where King Richard III was slain and home to a major interactive exhibition detailing this famous turning point in British history.
