Course Overview

This course will show you how to make the most effective use of your own calendar and how to use it to work collaboratively with your team.

This 2.5 hour course can be run on request.

Group bookings:

For a group booking of 5 or more people you can arrange a session to suit your department or team's availability.

What can I expect to cover?

The course will begin with an overview of the easiest way to navigate to a specific date and how to view your calendar in different ways.

You will explore how to use your calendar to schedule your own appointments, holidays and organise your workload, using settings that will help others to view your availability correctly.

You will find out how other staff see your calendar and be able to open other another person’s calendar to view their availability. You’ll learn how to create a group calendar to view your team’s availability instantly.

You will see how to share your calendar so that colleagues can view your appointments and how to use privacy settings for confidential appointments.

The last half an hour of the session will be optional, for those wanting to learn how to create Meeting Requests and manage responses.

What will I get out of this course?

By the end of the session your team will be able to:

  • Create and amend appointments using appropriate settings
  • Know how your calendar appears to other staff
  • Open another person's calendar
  • Share your calendar with colleagues
  • Create Meeting Requests (optional)
Who is it for?

All Staff with regular access to a University computer.

Participant preparation needed?

None.

What prior experience do I need?

You must have a good knowledge of using a computer and a reasonable degree of keyboard and mouse proficiency. You should be familiar with using Outlook to send and receive emails.
