Course Overview

 

This course will show you how to use essential time saving features when creating a long document such as a report or thesis. You will save time by  making use of using heading styles and creating a table of contents which is quick to create and update. The course will help you to put together a professional looking document which is well structured and easy to navigate.

What can I expect to cover?

During the course you will learn how to use styles to make your document consistent and to create an automatic table of contents. You will find out how to navigate around your document quickly. You will use the Navigation Pane to structure your document.

What will I get out of this course?

On completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Know why and how to use heading styles
  • Change the appearance of heading styles
  • Move around your document quickly using the Navigation Pane
  • Create an automatic table of contents
  • Save time when working with a long document

What prior experience do I need?

You should be familiar with using Word to format text and paragraphs. If you do not have this experience please book onto a Guided IT Learning Session before attending this course.
