Course Overview


This course will show you to use an existing database to add data and extract specific information. The course introduces you to the terminology and principles you will need when using an Access database.

What can I expect to cover? 

The course will begin with an introduction to Access database terminology and principles.  During the course you will use an example database to explore ways to add, amend and extract information. You will amend records, create a simple form and learn about how queries can be used to extract data.

What will I get out of this course? 

On completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Name the key parts of a database
  • Recognise the importance of tables in a database
  • Add and amend database records
  • Display specific records using simple queries

What prior experience do I need?

No experience of Access is needed. You must have a good knowledge using other Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel.
