Course Description


Course Overview


This is a basic introduction to Manual Handling course for University staff which includes practical exercises and group participation. The course provides practical knowledge of the principles of safer handling, enabling staff to move objects safely, avoid injury and be able to carry out basic manual handling risk assessments.

Who is it for?

Suitable for all staff, but may be particularly useful for Portering & Cleaning, Residential, Catering, Library, Learning Support, Technicians and Maintenance staff.

Participant preparation needed?

Please wear flat shoes and loose fitting clothes which allow for movement.

What prior experience do I need? No prior knowledge is required.
