The course will explain in detail how CMIS, the University Timetabling System, is used to create personalised teaching timetables for students.

What will I get out of this course? 

On completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Create sets of module sub groups and assign capacities
  • Apply module sub groups to timetable events
  • Automatically assign students to module sub groups 
  • Examine the allocation of students to module sub groups
  • Learn troubleshooting techniques with respect to unfitted students
  • Identify and resolve student clashes using system reports
  • Produce personalised student timetables
Who is it for?

This is an advanced CMIS course for Departmental Timetable Contacts who are currently responsible for producing personalised teaching timetables for students or for staff supporting the timetable process who would like to learn how to create these timetables in the future.

Participant preparation needed?

Some pre course preparation will need to be undertaken, the details of which will be distributed once confirmation of a place on the course has been issued.

What prior experience do I need?

Attendance at the Introduction to CMIS training course is desirable. General computer literacy.
