Overview Sessions

Potential applicants are expected to attend an overview session for the PEERS Experiential Route scheme for gaining Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.  The overview session covers:

  • An explanation about the UK Professional Standards Framework and how the various categories of Fellowships of the Higher Education Academy are aligned to it.
  • The requirements for each of the categories of Fellowship and how you apply through the University’s scheme.
  • Practical guidance on completing your application.

It is advisable to bring a hard or electronic copy of this HEA Guidance Document with you to the session.

Experience and Evidence

Please note that experience and evidence used for your application must relate to HE provision such as:

  • level 4 or above within the Framework for Higher Education Qualifications (FHEQ) in England, Wales and Northern Ireland;
  • level 7 or above within the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) in Scotland on the Framework for Qualifications of Higher Education Institutions (FQHEIS);
  • first cycle or above of the Qualifications Framework in the European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA);
  • level 6 or above of the Australian Qualifications Framework;
  • level 5 or above of the New Zealand Qualification Framework;
  • other equivalent higher education frameworks;
  • delivery of non-accredited continuing professional development for academic and learning support staff may also be considered as evidence equivalent to the higher education academic frameworks.
