The University's Annual Learning and Teaching Conference

This exciting and inspiring conference will provide colleagues with opportunities to:

  • explore the spectrum of 'student engagement', which ranges from participation in class to staff-student partnership activities;
  • share practice around teaching and learning development activities, approaches, and initiatives that foster and promote student engagement;
  • consider how we can work towards achieving student engagement through a variety of practices;
  • examine how new ideas/approaches can be applied in our own practices.

The conference will include a mix of presentations, sessions and discussions hosted by colleagues across all areas of the University.

Why you should attend the conference

"For everyone who is involved in teaching at any level in the University, this annual Conference is a key event. I would strongly encourage you to come along to hear about how colleagues are developing their teaching practices and to engage in networking to help improve your own practice.

A key feature of the Conference is that it is very much practitioner focused, based on the experiences of other colleagues from within the university. So there will be lots to learn with ideas about how to improve teaching, learning and assessment and how to implement new approaches into your own practices. With the national focus on the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) at subject level, improving the student learning experience has never been more important."

Professor Jon Scott, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience)
