This is a 1 hour practical workshop introducing the general principles of footnote referencing, and focusing on how to cite key academic sources in the University’s Footnote referencing style.

Who is the workshop for?

The session may be of interest to students in the departments of American Studies, English, History, History of Art and Film, Modern Languages and Museum Studies, who use the University’s Footnotes referencing style.

What will it cover?

  • General principles of referencing, footnotes and bibliographies
  • How to reference key academic sources - books, chapters, articles, webpages
  • How to use short forms and ibid to cite subsequent references

Do I need to do anything to prepare?

  • No need to sign up in advance
