What is RefWorks?

RefWorks is online bibliographic referencing software that allows you to store, manage and create your references. Using RefWorks you can incorporate your references directly into your MS Word document and format them in a range of output styles including Harvard, MLA and Vancouver.

This session provides a basic introduction to RefWorks. You can then get further help from our RefWorks help pages, attend a RefWorks drop-in session or book an appointment with your Liaison Librarian.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of the session students will be able to:

  • Create an account in RefWorks
  • Export references from key resources
  • Set up the MS Word Write-n-Cite toolbar add-in to insert references into documents
  • Create a reference list in MS Word, using a range of output styles

Before attending this workshop it would be useful to familiarise yourself with searching for resources on the Library website.
