PDP: critical reflection

Critical reflection is a well-established means by which all students, at all levels of study, are encouraged to think about their own progress and development - acknowledging where progress has been made and identifying areas for further improvement and development.

Throughout your studies, you will be encouraged to reflect on the following kinds of areas:

  • your preparedness for the demands of HE-Level study;
  • your progress through the various levels of study;
  • your study habits and practices and how effective these are;
  • your strengths and weaknesses, both academically and in terms of your employability;
  • the feedback you receive for the work you produce;
  • your preparedness for the world beyond undergraduate study.

Helping you to reflect on all these issues are: your academic department; academic support services like the Library, Learning Development; and the Career Development Service.
