I can't find the motivation to start earlier

PRIORITY ACTION 1: improve your time management

It is not uncommon for students to use the deadline as their main form of motivation for starting the essay. The problem with this approach is that being on the last minute can be very stressful and this can impede your ability to work effectively. Even if you thrive on working close to deadlines, it is unlikely that you are producing your best work. Being on the last minute means you are effectively handing in a first draft. A first draft is unlikely to have the coherent structure that comes from reviewing your writing.

In order to find the motivation to start your essay earlier (and thus have time for review), re-read the feedback from one of your previous essays (ideally one where you were unhappy with the mark).
