New telephone extensions

If you need a new phone extension your department will need to pay for the cost of installation.

You will need to ensure you have a budget code to cover the installation of the new line. When you request a new phone extension you can ask for a quotation prior to going ahead with the work. The cost of installation will vary dependent on how straightforward it will be to install and the type of extension required.

What type of phone will I get?

You will be provided with a phone dependent on the cabling in the location where the phone is going to be installed and also the  spare capacity on the telephone system that the phone will be connected to. The phone could be a analogue phone, a Standard desk phone, or a Standard Compact digital desk phone.
