Conference calls

If you wish to bring a number of people into a conversation from inside or outside the University, you can set up a conference call.

The University can also provide Conference phones (Polycom SoundStation IP 6000) that can be used to make conference calls, with multiple callers to listen and/or talk on the same call.

Arrange a conference call

If you need to arrange a conference call with a number of people that are external to the University, you can use a conference bridge. Many participants can dial into this virtual meeting room from their own phone.

Use IT Self Service to make a General request with the following information to request a conference bridge:

  • Name
  • University IT account username (e.g. ea179)
  • College or Division (e.g. Professional Services
  • Department (e.g. IT Services)

Your conference bridge will then be set up and you will be issued you with a conference PIN and moderator PIN to use the conference bridge.

Join a conference bridge as the moderator

Once you have received a conference PIN and moderator PIN, you are ready to join the conference bridge. At the time of your conference call:

  1. Dial +44 2033 750 780 or 7001 from a University desk phone
  2. Enter the conference PIN, followed by *6 and then your moderator PIN

You can set up mobile phone speed dial key, by storing a contact with the following number:

+442033750780,conference PIN#,*6,moderator PIN #

  2. Enter the conference PIN followed by #
