How do I report a problem with Blackboard?

If you can't see the courses you are expecting, please contact your course administrator. If you have a problem with the contents of a course, you need to contact your course instructor or tutor.

To report a technical issue, please contact the IT Service Desk. You need to provide the following information:

  1. Your University IT account username
  2. The course name and course ID of the Blackboard site where you discovered the issue (if the issue occurs within multiple Blackboard sites please provide details of all sites). This information can be found at the top of the Course Menu of your course site. In this example, the course name is 'History of English' and the course ID is EN1040:
    Course ID
  3. A detailed description of the issue.
  4. The steps you took before the issue occurred (for example: switched on Edit Mode > Accessed Tools Area > Clicked on Send Email tool link).
  5. Directions to the location of the issue within the site(s) e.g. Clicked on Course Documents menu link > accessed Week 3 Materials folder > accessed Session Slides folder.
  6. A screenshot of the page displaying the issue. This will enable support staff to see what you're experiencing (see How to take a screenshot for instructions).
  7. Confirm whether you're using a campus based PC with Internet Explorer or using your own computer. If you are using your own computer, please detail what operating system (e.g. Windows 7) and web browser (e.g. FireFox) you are using.

If you are experiencing an issue with Blackboard, to help us gauge the impact of issues, please contact the IT Service Desk whether it is listed in the Known Issues section or not.

If your issue is listed, please quote the reference number beginning PR that appears at the top of the page.
