Install a program using the Software Center

The Software Centre allows you to install programs on your University PC (Windows 10).

Open the Software Centre

Click Start > Software Centre tile under This Computer

Find a program to install

To find the program you want you can either:

  • Scroll through the list of programs
    This can be sorted by most recently added, program name, publisher name and status.
  • Search for a program
    Type a program name or keyword to search for desired programs.

It is possible to change the view of available programs between list view and tile view by selecting the corresponding option in the top corner.

You can click on a program to see a brief description. The Additional information button will take you to further information about the program and any help resources available on the University website.

Once you have found a program, click the Install button to install it

After the program has installed it will appear in Start > All Programs in alphabetical order.

Some programs are preinstalled on all University PCs. If you need to use a program you will need to install it on each computer you use; programs will not follow you around.

Uninstall a program

When you select a program from the list which is already installed, the Install button will change to Uninstall. Click Uninstall to remove the program.
