Inkscape is a vector drawing program that can be used to draw illustrations, maps, diagrams, charts and logos.

More information

With Inkscape you can create professional art for electronic and print illustration. Inkscape offers the creation of basic shapes, and these shapes can be rotated, sized, skewed, proportioned, filled and stroked. The position of individual points of a shape or line can be manipulated in precise detail. Advanced visual effects include gradient and transparency.

Inkscape stores its graphics in a vector format. Vector graphics is a resolution-independent description of the actual shapes and objects you see in the image, and this information determines how to plot each line and curve at any resolution or zoom level.
