How to connect your University email to your Android phone.

Students are recommended to use the Microsoft Outlook app, to access their University email.

Use the Mail app on your Android phone

If your would prefer to not use the Outlook app, these instructions will show you how to setup student email on an Android phone running 6.0 Marshmallow. You may be able to adapt these instructions for your phone; however, if you do encounter any problems it is recommended that you visit your phone manufacturer’s website for help.

  1. Open the apps section from your home screen

  2. Tap on Settings

  3. Tap on Add account - This may be in the Accounts section on your phone

    Tap on add account
  4. Tap Microsoft Exchange

    Tap on Email icon

  5. Enter your University Email Address and password

  6. Tap Next. Wait for the Exchange server setting to be checked.
  7. You may need to enter the following details:
    Server settings

    Username
    username@student.le.ac.uk

    Server address

    outlook.office365.com
  8. A Remote security administration or Activation message will appear. Tap Activate.

  9. Some phones may give you the option to Sync SMS, if you leave this box ticked your text messages will appear in your inbox. It is recommended that you deselect this option
