Empty Deleted Items

Quickly clean up your deleted items by automatically emptying the Deleted Items folder when you exit Outlook.

In Outlook 2010 you can enable this by following these steps:

  1. Go to File > Options > Advanced
  2. Under the heading Outlook start and exit tick the option Empty Deleted Items folder when exiting Outlook

Manually empty Deleted Items

To manually empty Deleted Items in Outlook 2010:

  1. Right-click the Deleted Items folder
  2. Pick Empty Folder

OR

  1. Go to File > Info > Cleanup Tools > Empty Deleted Items Folder
