University IT account

Every member of staff is given a University IT account when they start at the University

Getting Started

You will have been given a password from IT Service Desk and asked to reset it to a secure password when you first login. You will also be prompted to setup answers to four password reset questions. You will be able to reset your password at any time using these answers.

You will also need to change your password every 90 days.

Your University IT account will allow you to login to:

University PCs

  • Your University IT account allows you to login to any University PC on campus. Files saved on your personal Z: drive and any saved settings will stay with you when logging onto another University PC.


  • Blackboard is the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) used at the University of Leicester. It is used by students to access resources for their courses and by staff as a means of providing online assessment.
