Apply security updates to your University Mac and Safari browser

Apple have released the most recent security updates for Mac OS and Safari web browser. Install these updates using Mac Self Service.

If your Mac is currently running OS X El Capitan (10.11.6) or macOS Sierra (10.12.6), follow these steps to carry out these updates. You may wish to find out which version you are on.

  1. Go to Mac Self Service
  2. Under Categories, click on OS Updates
  3. An option to apply security updates for your Mac operating system and Safari should appear
  4. Click on Install for each of these options (this may take a while to complete)

If no relevant option appears in Mac Self Service, contact the IT Service Desk.
