Staff smart printing - try using the card reader

If your University ID card did not work previously you should try using it to login to your Smart Printer. If it still does not work, then you can acquire a new ID card.

University ID CardAt the end of November Card readers were installed on all 188 staff Smart Printers. Further work was required to improve the ID card information. This has now been completed, so many more staff should be able to use their ID card.

How do I use the card reader?

Just hold your card near the reader – the same way you use it for entering some buildings and car parks on campus. You will still have the option to use the keyboard if you need it.

The Print, Copy and Scan website login page shows the different types of card reader, where to find them on the Smart Printer and how to use them.

What if my card doesn’t work?

Paid staff can take advantage of using their ID card to login. As Postgraduates Researchers have a different type of University IT account, they will not be able to use their card to login and will need to enter their University IT account username and password.

If your card still does not work, contact Chris Fox (cjf14@le.ac.uk) who will arrange an appointment to visit the security office to obtain a replacement card.
