Orders for ‘non-standard’ Apple devices may take longer than normal to deliver

If you order an Apple device that requires customisation, your order may take over a month to deliver, due to the impact of Coronavirus.


Due to the Coronavirus affecting Chinese manufacturing plants, Apple have informed us (through our reseller) that lead times for customised devices will be longer than usual.

If you order an Apple iPad or Mac, which is a standard configuration listed on the Apple website, there should be minimal delay. However, our suppliers are suggesting an order may take over a month longer than normal, where devices have undergone some customisation.

No other IT supplier of the University have informed us of similar issues yet, but we are monitoring the situation closely.
