Smart Printing


Superusers are offered training on how to use and maintain the Smart Printer.

  • Toners and parts will be delivered to the Superuser

The Superuser will:

  • Order paper and staples
  • Contact IT Services when a maintenance part needs to be fitted
  • Contact IT Services to order paper and staples for the Smart Printers
  • Be asked to display up-to-date posters

Shared departmental X: drive

X: drive coordinators

X: drive coordinators understand the structure of the department’s X: drive and how the permissions are managed.

The X: drive coordinator will:

  • Update membership of the Access Groups
  • Agree structure and permission changes with the department
  • Submit requests for changes to IT Services
  • Help to ensure the security of the X: drive


Departmental IT Contacts (DITCs)

Departmental IT Contacts act as a point of communication with IT Services
The DITC will:

  • Request new IT accounts, extensions and mobile phones
  • Distribute weekly news regarding IT services
  • Signpost people to information about IT Services
  • Inform their department of current IT issues and future changes

College IT Teams

College IT teams deal with specialist IT requests within the College of Life Sciences and the College of Science and Engineering
