Get prepared: Reinstall of eduroam wifi required on 31 March 2020

On Tuesday, 31 March 2020, staff and students will need to set up eduroam wifi on personal devices again, to continue to access the internet using eduroam wifi.

What will I need to do on Tuesday, 31 March 2020?

On the day, you will need to ‘forget’ eduroam from the wifi settings on your personal device(s). Setup eduroam wifi using instructions at cat.eduroam.org. More information is available at wifi.le.ac.uk

What devices are affected?

This change will affect all personal, laptops, mobile phones and tablets which use eduroam wifi. This will not affect University Staff laptops and Fully assured University Macs, as these use a different network.

The change only relates to eduroam wifi provided by the University of Leicester and no other institutions.

What can I do to prepare?

If you have an Android device you can install the eduroam CAT app from the Google Play store or Amazon Appstore, to prepare.
