Updated: Install the Microsoft Outlook app if you have upgraded your iPhone or iPad to iOS 11

The issue affecting use of the built-in Mail app following an upgrade to iOS 11 has been fixed and you will now be able to access your University email if you have upgraded to the newer version.

You can't send or reply from Outlook.com, Office 365, or Exchange 2016 in iOS 11 Mail.app

The resolution is to update your iPad or iPhone to iOS 11.0.1 or later.

If you continue to experience difficulties connecting to your University email via your built-in Mail app, you can download Microsoft Outlook from the App Store to access your University email. See Set up email in Outlook for iOS mobile app for instructions.

Install the Microsoft Outlook app if you have upgraded your iPhone or iPad to iOS 11

If you have upgraded your iPhone or iPad to iOS 11 and use the built-in Mail app, you may not be able to access University email at the moment. You can install the Microsoft Outlook app to access your University email or delay upgrading to iOS 11 for now.

What's affected?

If you have upgraded your iPhone or iPad to iOS 11, you may not be able to use the built-in Mail app to send or receive emails from your University email account. This does not affect an iPhone or iPad that is running iOS 9 or iOS 10.

Workaround

You can download the Microsoft Outlook from the App Store to access your University email. See Set up email in Outlook for iOS mobile app for instructions.

If you have not upgraded to iOS 11 you may want to delay installing the update, whilst this issue is fixed.

Why

With the release of iOS 11, the built-in Apple Mail app is currently not compatible with Office 365 and other Microsoft email accounts.
